Our Philosophy

Welcome to the Minneapolis Select Basketball website. We are proud to say that we are one of the fastest growing youth basketball organizations in the state of Minnesota. Born out of the spirit and love for the game of basketball, it was our desire to provide the many benefits of basketball for all our participants beyond the enjoyment of the game.

Our Mission
Using basketball and the power of teams as our vehicle to teach and inspire youth athletically, academically and personally. Combining quality basketball instruction and competition, along with academic support and character development that focuses on life skills.

A non-profit organization that was founded in 2007, we offer competitive travel basketball teams, in addition to a life skills program for grade 4 through 9. We provide a format that is safe and encouraging for all participants while they develop their skills as well as learn the values of team sport play. We hope that the confidence they gain from these endeavors assists them in becoming the best possible representatives of basketball, themselves and their community.

We feel that young people should be exposed to all types of athletic experiences and those that choose to pursue basketball as a sport will enjoy their experience with Minneapolis Select. Thus, it is our belief that when properly coached and administered, basketball can be used as a vehicle for teaching life skills that go beyond the sport.
